D.H. Conley and New Bern are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
New Bern will be up against a hot D.H. Conley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Vikings put the hurt on South Central with a sharp 39-14 win on Friday.

Elijah Taft had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 166 yards and four touchdowns. Those 166 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something D.H. Conley proved: they limited South Central to a paltry 2.4 yards per carry. The Vikings' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.1.

Meanwhile, New Bern got the win against White Oak on Friday by a conclusive 46-20. Considering the Bears have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
New Bern's win came from a few key players D.H. Conley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Terrance McCormick, who threw for 189 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 67 yards and one score. His passing game has become a key predictor of New Bern's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Karvin Magwood, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries.
D.H. Conley's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for New Bern, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. D.H. Conley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 205.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like New Bern struggles in that department as they've been averaging 171.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
D.H. Conley couldn't quite get it done against New Bern in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 28-15. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McCormick, who rushed for 83 yards and one TD, and also threw for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that the Vikings know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
