Recap: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Green Canyon Wolves
Even though the Snow Canyon Warriors have not done well against the Green Canyon Wolves recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Snow Canyon strolled past Green Canyon with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. Winning may never get old, but Snow Canyon sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Green Canyon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Marissa Best, who scored 12 points along with three steals and three blocks, and Janalynn Blotter who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Blotter's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Snow Canyon's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Green Canyon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.
Snow Canyon will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Crest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Snow Canyon is ranked fifth). Green Canyon will be home for the holidays to greet Pine View at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pine View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Saturday.
