Softball Game Preview: Nova Titans vs. Stoneman Douglas Eagles

The Nova Titans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Stoneman Douglas Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Wednesday, Nova came up short against Flanagan and fell 12-8.

Jada Corbin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Samantha Sandoval, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Stoneman Douglas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Cooper City on Wednesday.

Kaitlin Enright made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Enright was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Myah Boleen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Dani Rincon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Stoneman Douglas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cooper City only posted an OBP of .345.

Nova might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Stoneman Douglas in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
