Lumberton was the 3-0 winner over Midway when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates fell 3-1 to the Raiders on Wednesday. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lumberton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-13.

It was another big night for Ella Clark, who had nine digs and four aces for Midway. Clark is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 44 games she's played dating back to last season. Abbie Beasley was another key player, getting 12 digs and two assists.

Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Midway, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Lumberton will venture away from home to square off against Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midway, after both having extra time off, they and Rosewood will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
