Soccer Recap: Cardinal Newman's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Cardinal Newman entered their match against Suncoast on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cardinal Newman Crusaders fell just short of the Suncoast Chargers by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of AJ Herlong, who's now up to four this season.

Cardinal Newman's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Suncoast, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7-2.

Cardinal Newman will head out to face off against King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Newman's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Suncoast, they will welcome Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
