Softball Recap: Wilcox Comes Up Short

Wilcox dropped their record down to 7-12 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 13-2 to the Los Gatos Wildcats. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Wilcox saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Scott, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Los Gatos, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.

On Los Gatos' side, Danica DeSantis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Addie Sorto was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Olivia Sickels, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Wilcox wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-4 loss against Mountain View on the 24th. As for Los Gatos, they have also already played their next matchup, a 5-1 win against Homestead on the 24th.
