Baseball Game Preview: Meadow Heights Panthers vs. Saxony Lutheran Crusaders

Meadow Heights is 1-8 against Saxony Lutheran since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Meadow Heights will be playing in front of their home fans against Saxony Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. Saxony Lutheran took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Meadow Heights, who comes in off a win.

Meadow Heights took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Oak Ridge get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Blue Jays recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Eli Frazier's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Meadow Heights' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trae Yamnitz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Yamnitz a new career-high. Another was Hayes Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Saxony Lutheran was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 4-1 to Scott City. The loss put an end to the Crusaders' undefeated start to the season.

Meadow Heights' win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Saxony Lutheran, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
