Basketball Recap: Monsignor Pace Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Monsignor Pace extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Evelyn Cortes. The Monsignor Pace Spartans were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over the South Dade Buccaneers on Monday thanks in part to Cortes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Her evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Aleaijah Russell was another key player, putting up nine points and five assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Despite the loss, South Dade still got an impressive performance from Justice Sheppard, who posted ten points and six assists.

Monsignor Pace's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for South Dade, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Monsignor Pace has already played their next matchup (against Schoolhouse Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Dade has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Braddock.
