Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Battle Ground Academy). Everything went their way against the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Khloe Burton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Burton was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Cooper Corbett was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Eily Wolfe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Battle Ground Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
