Softball Recap: Ludlowe Takes a Loss

Ludlowe dropped down to 11-6-1 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Darien Blue Wave by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 20th.

As for Darien, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games.

For Darien's part, Bella McCarthy was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ludlowe is set to square off against their familiar foe Wilton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Darien will face off against rival Ridgefield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Wave 1.1, the Tigers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
