Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Marauders vs. Richmond Red Devils

Mt. Vernon is a perfect 10-0 against Richmond since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Marauders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Mt. Vernon ended up a good deal behind Roncalli and lost 56-41. The Marauders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kendra Ash, who posted 13 points and six boards. She has also also been stellar as far as three-point shooting accuracy is concerned: she's posted one of at least 50% every time she's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zoey Wood, who scored 15 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Richmond came up short against Anderson on Friday and fell 52-43. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 15-9 in the first quarter.

Mt. Vernon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Mt. Vernon took their win against Richmond in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 53-31 score. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
