Basketball Recap: The Classical Academy Skates Past Elizabeth with Ease

The Classical Academy entered their tilt with Elizabeth on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Elizabeth Cardinals for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-11 win. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 30 points or more this season.

The Classical Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Megahan out in front who posted 13 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Megahan a new career-high in blocks (two). Naomi Flowers was another key player, putting up two points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks.

The Classical Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elizabeth only racked up four assists.

The Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Elizabeth, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Classical Academy will welcome Falcon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (The Classical Academy has won four straight at home, while Falcon won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Elizabeth, they will host Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
