Volleyball Game Preview: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars

The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks will face off against the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Desert Oasis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Foothill, who was ranked eighth at the time (Desert Oasis was ranked 12th). The Diamondbacks came up short against the Falcons on Wednesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Diamondbacks have suffered since April 3rd.

Desert Oasis was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Foothill work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence lost 3-0 to Valley on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-11.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Desert Oasis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.
