League recap: Halfway's Drake delivers best pitching performance from past week

Polk County league recap: 4/3/13

Nick Drake was the top pitcher in Polk County this week, leading Halfway. He racked up ten strike outs this week.

Humansville came away with the most league victories this week in the league, with one. The Tigers beat Halfway 11-8.

The Cardinals boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

Hermitage stole 25 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 64 steals on the year.

The Hornets' Cody Powell led the league in strikeouts this week with 13. With 19 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks third in the league.



Danny Carver's 1.000 batting average (4-for-4) for Halfway was the best in the league this week. He's batting .385 on the year, which puts him at sixth in the league. Carver has totaled five hits this season.

Drake led Humansville to a win on March 27, as he notched ten strikeouts to beat the Cardinals, 11-8. Over five innings of work, he gave up five hits and seven runs.
