Basketball Recap: Northeastern Jets vs. National Trail Blazers
On Saturday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Northeastern had to settle for a 49-47 loss against the Blazers. Northeastern has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Northeastern still got an impressive performance from Will Sudhoff, who scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Sudhoff scored 15 or more points. Caleb Smith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Northeastern dropped their record down to 5-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for National Trail, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Northeastern will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mechanicsburg has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for National Trail, they and the Tigers will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Ansonia is ranked 715th, while the Blazers are ranked 729th).
