Basketball Recap: Penney Takes a Loss

Penney was the 64-48 winner over Lathrop when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Penney Hornets took a 54-38 bruising from the Lathrop Mules on Wednesday.

Penney's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lathrop, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.

Penney will take on Wellington-Napoleon in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellington-Napoleon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lathrop, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-29 defeat against Plattsburg on the 13th.
