Volleyball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens lost against Rib Lake back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bluejays fell just short of the Redmen by a score of 2-1. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Rib Lake can attribute much of their success to Avery Niemi, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Niemi has posted over her last 15 matchups.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Rib Lake, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Athens has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Manawa on the 20th. As for Rib Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Spencer on the 20th.
