Baseball Recap: Cassopolis' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cassopolis came into Monday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bloomingdale Cardinals a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The Rangers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 17-2).

Waylon Yakel made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lane Leach, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Gage Mitchell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Cassopolis' victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Bloomingdale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Cassopolis will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
