Basketball Game Preview: Hudson Hornets vs. Madisonville Mustangs

The Hudson Hornets will face off against the Madisonville Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Hudson earned a 39-32 victory over Palestine.

Meanwhile, Madisonville entered their tilt with Rusk on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 71-52 win over the Eagles. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Eagles are ranked 739th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hudson pushed their record up to 14-15 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Madisonville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 20-6.

Hudson was able to grind out a solid victory over Madisonville in their previous meeting on January 14th, winning 57-46. Will Hudson repeat their success, or does Madisonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
