There's no place like home for the Lugoff-Elgin Demons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 65-58 win over Sumter on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lugoff-Elgin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nigel Chivers, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The contest was Chivers' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braylen Mumford, who scored 12 points along with six assists.
Lugoff-Elgin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Sumter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Lugoff-Elgin will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ridge View at 7:30 p.m. Ridge View will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Sumter, they will head out on the road to face off against Socastee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
