Basketball Game Preview: Midland Classical Academy Knights vs. Crane Cranes

The Midland Classical Academy Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Crane Cranes at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland Classical Academy will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Midland Classical Academy is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Kingdom Prep Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Midland Classical Academy blew Kingdom Prep Academy out of the water with a 60-8 final score. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 26 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Addie Dunn, who went 9 of 20 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Sherrill, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Midland Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Crane suffered their biggest loss since November 23rd last Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Coahoma an easy 42-18 win. While losing is never fun, the Cranes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1059th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 227th).

Midland Classical Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Crane, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9.
