Volleyball Recap: EPIC Academy Takes a Loss

EPIC Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thornridge Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Tuesday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, EPIC Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 0-25, 25-0.

EPIC Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Thornridge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. EPIC Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hubbard at 5:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Thornridge, they will host Hammond Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
