Softball Recap: Corona Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Corona can now relate to. They fell just short of the San Clemente Tritons by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since February 22, 2025.

Corona has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-8 record this season. As for San Clemente, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Corona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Clemente, they will face off against Temescal Canyon at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tritons 3.4, the Titans 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
