Football Recap: West Holt Skates Past Sandhills Valley with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Loup, West Holt was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-6 win over the Sandhills Valley Mavericks. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-0.

West Holt can attribute much of their success to Gabriel Monasterio, who rushed for 51 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also caught one TD.

West Holt's run defense was locked in: Sandhills Valley could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Lane Keogh for the heroic effort on defense: he. West Holt's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 2.93 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 4.5 on average over their last five games.

West Holt's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Sandhills Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
