Baseball Recap: Otay Ranch's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Otay Ranch dropped their record down to 22-12 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Ramona Bulldogs by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since April 25th.

Carlos Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

As for Ramona, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

On Ramona's side, Jakob Coxen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Colton Simpson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cal Melendez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

As of now, neither Otay Ranch nor Ramona have any future games scheduled.
