Softball Recap: Desert Heights Prep Comes Up Short

Desert Heights Prep lost against Bagdad back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Yote lost 20-5 to the Sultans. The Yote have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bayli Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Kloi Von Tobel was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Desert Heights Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bagdad, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Heights Prep will square off against Anthem Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yote's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Bagdad, they will take on Salome at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
