Soccer Recap: Torres Victorious

Torres proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past the University Prep Value Wolves 2-1.

The win got Torres back to even at 4-4-1. As for University Prep Value, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-1 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Torres and Maywood Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on January 12, 2026. The matchup will give Torres their first taste of in-conference action this season. University Prep Value and Smidt Tech will round out the year against one another at 1:50 p.m. on Friday. University Prep Value will be up against Smidt Tech's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.67 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
