Football Game Preview: Hartland Eagles vs. Catholic Central Shamrocks

The Hartland Eagles will take on the Catholic Central Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Hartland was fully in charge, breezing past Dearborn 35-7. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Catholic Central put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 26-14 win over King. Those 26 points were actually the fewest the Shamrocks have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

A big part of Catholic Central's victory came down to the chemistry between Duke Banta and his top target Samson Gash. Banta threw for 189 yards and two TDs on only ten passes while Gash gained 78 total yards and a touchdown. Gash also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending two passes.

One reason for the win was Catholic Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Jack Janda was especially locked on to King's QB and sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Crusaders' side was Brandon Bartolucci, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Hartland now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Catholic Central, their record is now 9-0.
