Recap: Kennedy Thunderbirds vs. Shafter Generals
The Kennedy Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 56-47 to Shafter.
Leading Shafter to victory were Shaun Maldonado and Aidan Cardenas. Maldonado scored 22 points, while Cardenas scored 19 points along with two steals. Nathan Bloemhof was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Kennedy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Shafter, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Kennedy will face off against Chavez at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chavez has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 301 points over their last five matchups. As for Shafter, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Wasco at 6:30 p.m. Wasco is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
