Basketball Game Preview: Northside Mustangs vs. Lane Tech Champions

Northside hasn't had much luck against Lane Tech recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mustangs will be home for the holidays to greet the Champions at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Northside is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 67-61 to Willows Academy on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Lane Tech suffered their closest loss since November 17th on Sunday. They fell just short of Saint Ignatius College Prep by a score of 34-31. The matchup marked the Champions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lane Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Northside might still be hurting after the 60-34 defeat they got from Lane Tech in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Grace Bush (who went 11-for-20 to rack up 23 points and six boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
