Basketball Recap: Denver City Takes a Loss

If Denver City was feeling good fresh off their 44-23 takedown of Crane last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Denver City Mustangs took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stanton Buffaloes on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 835th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 320th).

Denver City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Stanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Denver City will challenge Brownfield at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stanton, they will face off against Compass Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
