Softball Game Preview: Rush City Tigers vs. Proctor Rails

Rush City is 1-9 against Proctor since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Rails at 4:30 p.m. Rush City is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Thursday, Rush City earned a 4-1 victory over Mora.

Mora's batters probably weren't too happy with Kendal Pillar, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 17 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Pillar has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Natalie Rood and Megan Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Rood went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Nelson went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Nelson's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Proctor suffered their closest loss since April 22, 2025 on Thursday. They fell just short of Superior by a score of 5-3. The Rails have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Proctor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Rush City, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.

Rush City beat Proctor 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rails turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
