Baseball Recap: Altha Wins Going Away Against Gadsden County

While Altha put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Gadsden County. Everything went the Altha Wildcats' way against the Gadsden County Jaguars as the Altha Wildcats made off with an 18-0 win. The contest marked the Wildcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Altha got a massive performance out of Griffin Pickron, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Pickron a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Mason Hill, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Altha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gadsden County only posted a batting average of .000.

The win (which was Altha's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs over those games. As for Gadsden County, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altha will face off against Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gadsden County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Jaguars take on the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
