Basketball Recap: Briley Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tri County Northeast over Wausa

Tri County Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 45-30 bruising from the Wausa Vikings. The Wolfpack were probably out for revenge after losing 50-24 to them when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Wolfpack players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Briley Anderson, who posted eight points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mica Tornez, who scored four points.

Among those leading the charge was Taylor Dawson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Barta, who had 11 points and four steals.

Tri County Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Wausa, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Tri County Northeast has already played their next contest (against Wakefield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wausa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-32 victory against Winside on the 24th.
