Basketball Recap: Northwest Yeshiva Takes a Loss

Northwest Yeshiva lost against Mount Vernon Christian back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Northwest Yeshiva Lions took a blow against the Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes, falling 78-42. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Northwest Yeshiva still got an impressive performance from Joe Benoliel, who posted 21 points. Benoliel is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Kaufthal, who had five points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Northwest Yeshiva's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Mount Vernon Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Northwest Yeshiva will host Darrington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Yeshiva is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. As for Mount Vernon Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Coupeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mount Vernon Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
