Basketball Recap: Aquinas Skates Past Lincoln Lutheran with Ease

While Aquinas didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors 63-27 on Saturday. The Monarchs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Campbell, who posted 13 points and seven steals. Campbell is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Faith Samek, who earned 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Aquinas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Lincoln Lutheran, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Aquinas will take on David City in a tournament on Friday. Aquinas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they will be taking part in a tournament against Holdrege at 4:30 p.m. on December 30th.
