Basketball Recap: Sullivan Comes Up Short

Sullivan extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They took a blow against the Washington Hatchets, falling 58-14. The game marked the Golden Arrows' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Washington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Washington was led to victory by Katie Reed and London Gilley. Reed went 8-for-10 on her way to 24 points and eight rebounds, while Gilley shot 45% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals. That's the most points Gilley has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shay Hawk, who earned six points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sullivan won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Washington, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Tecumseh at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hatchets will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
