Softball Recap: Greenville Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Greenville was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They came up short against the Denison Yellow Jackets, falling 9-1. The Lions have struggled against the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Greenville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxey Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Denison, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will head out to challenge Lovejoy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Leopards have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Denison, they will head out on the road to take on Sherman at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
