Basketball Game Preview: Kimball Longhorns vs. Hemingford Bobcats

The Kimball Longhorns will square off against the Hemingford Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kimball took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 63-56 victory over Pine Bluffs. The win was all the more spectacular given the Longhorns' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 98th in Nebraska, while the Hornets are ranked 30th in Wyoming).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hemingford took on Morrill on Tuesday. Hemingford secured a 44-39 W over Morrill. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Hemingford's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Kimball, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Kimball strolled past Hemingford in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 63-44. Does Kimball have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hemingford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
