Basketball Recap: South Oak Cliff Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

South Oak Cliff won the last time they faced Hillcrest and things went their way on Friday too. The South Oak Cliff Bears put the hurt on the Hillcrest Panthers with a sharp 69-47 victory. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Panthers are ranked 771st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillcrest's loss came despite strong showings from Dj Corbin and Laterrance Potter Jr. Corbin posted 14 points and six rebounds, while Potter Jr went 5 of 9 on his way to 16 points.

South Oak Cliff's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Hillcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
