Softball Recap: Holton-Arms Comes Up Short

Holton-Arms extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-4 in the process. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs. Surprisingly, this marked Holton-Arms' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games.

For Georgetown Visitation Prep's part, Sami Farmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ainsley Kovarik, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Caitlin O'Connor, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Georgetown Visitation Prep beat Holton-Arms by a score of 7-4 later that day.
