It was a good run, but Buckeye Trail unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Martins Ferry Purple Riders by a score of 40-37. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Buckeye Trail's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Martins Ferry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckeye Trail will venture away from home to square off against Malvern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Malvern's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups. As for Martins Ferry, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. Clairsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Clairsville will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Martins Ferry surely won't give up without a fight.
