Football Recap: Kenedy Takes Down Crawford in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Kenedy walked away with it. They walked away with a 19-7 victory over the Crawford Pirates on Friday. Those 19 points were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Kenedy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Salas, who rushed for 113 yards and a pair of TDs.

Kenedy's run defense was locked in: Crawford could only muster 0.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Dehlay Salas stood above the rest. He made nine total tackles. Kenedy's ground attack was stronger, having averaged four.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Kenedy, bringing their record up to 10-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.2 points on average over those games. As for Crawford, they moved to 10-2 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Kenedy will take on Mason at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Punchers' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. Crawford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
