Baseball Recap: Hickory Takes a Loss

Hickory managed to slip by Western Branch the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawks lost 12-2 to the Bruins on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Hickory saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Kemick, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Western Branch, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Hickory nor Western Branch have any future games scheduled.
