Soccer Game Preview: Colony vs. Juneau-Douglas

The Colony Knights will square off against the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Colony's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past West Anchorage 4-0. The high-scoring effort was just what Colony needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

They hit West Anchorage with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hannah Hofmann, Avrie Geigerich, Sammy Gerteisen, and Asha Gerteisen.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Juneau-Douglas). They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Houston on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Juneau-Douglas.

Colony now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Juneau-Douglas, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Colony was able to grind out a solid victory over Juneau-Douglas when the teams last played back in April of 2015, winning 3-1. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Crimson Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
