Softball Recap: Lapwai Comes Up Short

Lapwai extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-12 in the process. They lost 23-5 to Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce]. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce] this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 on Thursday.

As for Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce], their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce]'s part, Morgan Kirkland was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with eight stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Sheradyn Stamper was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
