Baseball Recap: Aliceville Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Aliceville's offense. They came up short against the Pickens Academy Pirates on Thursday, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 last Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Aliceville and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Pickens Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aliceville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pickens County at 6:00 p.m. on March 31st. As for Pickens Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Hubbertville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pickens Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
