Baseball Game Preview: Lakeview Bulldogs vs. Maplewood Rockets

The Lakeview Bulldogs will challenge the Maplewood Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, Lakeview came up short against South Range and fell 7-2.

Lakeview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Shaker, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Maplewood has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Lake Center Christian, falling 10-2. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kenyan Clover was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lakeview's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Maplewood, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
