Basketball Recap: Ellinwood's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Ellinwood and Phillipsburg squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Ellinwood had to settle for second. They took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phillipsburg Panthers. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Ellinwood lost, don't look at Julia Schlessiger. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ellinwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive contests.
