Volleyball Recap: Sharon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sharon and Cathedral Prep squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Sharon had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramblers. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sharon lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Emmalie Yobe, who had 27 assists and 12 digs. Yobe is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie McFann, who had 26 digs.

Cathedral Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colette Speros, who had 23 kills, 20 digs, and two aces. That's the most digs Speros has posted since back in September. Kamryn Resurreccion was another key player, getting 15 digs and four aces.

Sharon's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6-1. As for Cathedral Prep, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10-1.

Sharon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cathedral Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Cochranton on the 28th.
